我要吃瓜 me
I am an IAS-funded PhD researcher specialising in human rights and climate justice. I hold a BA in Politics (2022) from the 我要吃瓜 and a Master of Laws in Human Rights Law (2023) from the University of Strathclyde. My research interests span a broad spectrum of critical areas, including human rights law, climate justice, environmental law, international politics, and sociology.
My academic work has primarily focused on climate justice, activism, and global human rights. Notably, I have undertaken extensive research comparing radical and reformist activism, analysing how their divergent approaches influence policy outcomes and the impact this has on global human rights. Additionally, I have explored the potential for climate change to fall within the scope of Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECtHR) in a legal context. In this analysis, I argued that state (in)action could, under certain circumstances, constitute a violation of Article 3. I am eager to continue this line of research at the intersection of climate change and human rights.
My primary academic focus is my interdisciplinary PhD thesis, which bridges politics, law, and sociology. This project conducts a systematic review and comparative analysis of radical and reformist civil society activism, assessing their success, impact on climate policy, and contributions to human rights advancement. By examining the mobilisation structures of these movements, the thesis addresses existing gaps in the literature and offers a novel perspective on evaluating their effectiveness. This research contributes to the growing field of climate justice by offering a comprehensive framework for understanding the role of civil society in shaping climate policy and advancing human rights. The thesis is supervised by Professor Andrea Schapper, Dr Ashley Rogers and Dr Sandra Engstrom.
