Emmett Alexander (they/he) is an ESRC-funded PhD researcher in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

PhD working title: Neuroqueer(y)ing Vulnerability: An autoethnographic exploration of autistic trans experiences of support in Scotland.

My work centres around autistic trans experiences of support and support services, asking how support is now and how it could be better in the future. Our experiences of the present will be explored through autoethnographic data and interviews, and grounded in sociopolitical context through critical discourse analysis of policy and practice documents. The future will be explored through creative methods which encourage the imagination of alternative futures and ideas of what support could be.
