I am a PhD student in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport. I qualified as a registered Adult Nurse in 2006, following which I worked in a variety of areas before finding my place in emergency medicine. I was lucky enough to work in an A&E department with an active research group, which furthered my interest in teaching students and engaging staff and members of the public in research. My key interests are in the welfare of the nursing workforce and identifying ways to retain nursing staff. After completing a Masters in Health Research focussing on moral distress, I am now undertaking PhD studies looking at the complex reasons nurses become, stay or leave emergency nursing.
