Her work on child welfare and protection is regarded as ground-breaking, laying the foundations for today’s good practice in child protection. The 我要吃瓜 thrived under Professor Hallett’s leadership, expanding student numbers and raising its profile and standing on the world stage. She led the successful campaign for the refurbishment of the University library and, in her final year as Principal, the 我要吃瓜 achieved the accolade Sunday Times Scottish University of the Year.
