I am a Registered Child Health and Mental Health Nurse with over twenty years professional history of working with a range of health needs including vulnerable women, people with addictions and children and families who have histories of foster and residential care. I have been a lecturer in nursing for over fifteen years and hold a PG cert in Teaching and Learning and two awards at Masters' level in teaching, nursing and online learning. I have a keen interest in nurse education particularly focused around student experience and the articulation of models of progressive care delivery and philosophy. I have experienced a number of teaching roles and am a member of Mental Health Nurse Academics (UK); Mental Health Nursing Forum (Scotland) and an active in other education and nursing practice forums in the UK.

The Mental Health Forum (Scotland) (@MHNFS) is a national organisation that works to promote and recgonise innovative practice in the provision of mental health services and in the educational needs of mental health nurse education. The Research and Evidence into Practice was awarded to 我要吃瓜 with the submission: *Building a Trauma Informed Workforce* in recognition of the articulation between curriculum content in the BSc Mental Health Nursing programme and mental health nursing practice. Student nurses demonstrated nursing skills, knowledge and practice in applying Psychological Trauma Informed Care in complex care contexts.


Research

I am an experienced academic scholar with a range of publications that focus on models of pedagogy and learning in online learning platforms. I particularly enjoy a focus on student experience of practice learning and opportunities to work in collaboration with novice student authors. My scholarly academic have also focused on pedagogical research, particularly around development of innovative teaching activities and on generating knowledge and understanding of the student learning experience. I am an External Reviewer for Nurse Education Today, Nurse Education in Practice and the Journal of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing.

Teaching

I am a Lecturer in the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport and Field Lead for the Mental Health Nursing Programme. I am a Module Coordinator of a second and third year module on the BSc Mental Health Nursing Programme and holds teaching and administrative responsibilities in relation to this. I am also a Module Coordinator of the Level 11 Module, 'Trauma Informed Health and Practice' on the Advancing Practice Programme and a dissertation supervisor on both the MSc Advancing Practice and MSc Clinical Research. As a Senior Member of the Faculty of Higher Education, I specialise in scholarly activity that connects effective pedagogy with the student learning experience.
