Abstract
The UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) Subsidiary Bodies gathered for their routine mid-year meeting in Bonn in June 2014. The meeting also featured a high-level (ministerial) segment, which, it was hoped, would garner momentum in the lead-up to the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (CoP-21) in 2015, where a new climate agreement is expected to be adopted. Although this session was not marred by the divisions and procedural stumbling that have characterised recent meetings, little substantive progress was achieved. This review provides an overview of the outcome of the meeting, highlighting its main achievements and shortcomings.
