Parent/Carer Engagement Project

Funded by .
The purpose of the research is to identify the factors which differentiate schools that exceed expectations in terms of outcomes for children and young people, when compared to those with similar profiles. Research will include Partnership Schools Scotland and non-partnership schools. On identification of schools, the research will examine reasons for variance, focusing on four themes: learning and teaching, leadership style, parent/carer engagement and collaborative working. The findings from the study will be a research report with recommendations. If appropriate, the project team will compile short research briefings, indicating key findings for audiences such as policymakers. We will share findings via a public seminar, hosted by the Stirling Network for Curriculum Studies, and aimed at policy makers in government, national agencies and local authorities, and headteachers.
