Paula has worked in the field of Heritage Planning for over 2 decades. Initially working for the RSPB and then SEPA, Paula joined the National Trust for Scotland in 2001. During this time Paula has sought to improve the process and activity of planning in the Trust to ensure the activity supports operational, engagement and conservation activity at the wide range of properties managed by the Trust. Paula has a BSc in Geography from the University of Glasgow and an MSc in Rural and Regional Resources Planning from the University of Aberdeen.

Research

Paula is currently involved in the joint research project with the 我要吃瓜 - Social values of National Trust for Scotland heritage places: towards an organisational approach

This project aims to understand the value of National Trust for Scotland heritage places (natural and cultural) to contemporary communities, including people’s sense of identity, belonging, and place.
