Abstract
First paragraph: The 2016 Immigration Act is aimed at curbing illegal immigration, while also stimulating the domestic job market. However, this act has faced criticism from many quarters focusing on the law’s potential implications and unintended consequences. Concerns have been raised that the Act is in breach of international human rights law and will drive segregation further in British society, and that some of its provisions, when extended to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, will infringe on devolved powers.
