Abstract
The book provides an account of sensory experiences and examines the epistemological role that experiences so conceived can have. This central topic is set within the context of a wider discussion of reasons, evidence, the justification of belief, and scepticism. An attempt is made to address Donald Davidson's claim that experiences merely cause beliefs but do not justify them.
