Abstract
Microcomputers in geography have been used in a variety of ways, but chiefly in the analysis of data or teaching of programming, and only rarely as a control mode or for data acquisition. A microcomputer controlled weather station provides several advantages for climatological and meteorological research over traditional methods of data collection. This note reports on the development of such a system at Lampeter and shows how it may be used for research.
