Abstract
Analyses French Decree 2011-48 of 13 January 2011 on Arbitration, which amends the Code of Civil Procedure and updates the law on international commercial arbitration, looking at: (1) how the Decree has handled the consolidation of previous arbitration and case law; (2) the role of the supporting judge (juge d'appui) in assisting arbitration; (3) the powers of the arbitral tribunal to make interim measures; (4) the simplification of the procedures for the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards; and (5) the rules on the setting aside of awards and waiver of the parties' rights to appeal.
