Abstract
First paragraph: Tobacco use is the most preventable cause of cancer, ill health and premature death in developed countries. Although the decrease in smoking prevalence among adults over the last few decades has been responsible for improvements in cancer mortality rates, tobacco use continues to account for one-third of all cancer deaths and up to 90% of all lung cancer cases.
